this is me
hello and welcome to my creative space
I’ve had many occupations in my life: scientist, nurse, researcher, mother, admin assistant, blogger, artist and been a YouTube Creator now for 5 years.
In the beginning I was a small child who made things, drew things, then I sewed terrible clothes as I grew older and forced all sorts of inappropriate handmade christmas and birthday presents onto my unsuspecting family. In other words I was a creator.
But somewhere my path became a conventional one of university and then various kinds of “proper” work, marriage and motherhood and my true art got pushed to one side. In my 30’s I commenced the rediscovery my artistic nature with a leaflet in the library by the Open School of Art, and I’m still finding out more every day!
I’ve played with textiles and stitch for many years, with drawing and photography as a sideline; I blogged, I sold work, I did open studios, I taught workshops. 5 years ago I braved the world of YouTube and love it there, especially the community who’ve shared this part of my journey of exploration with me.
Here I look to expand and grow - my self-knowledge, my art and my connection with others on the same path. I love to inspire other people to get creative as I believe it is a great way to relax and be in the moment, whether you’re creating a painting, a garden, a meal, a play, a book, a table, whether you’re knitting, stitching, scribbling… or just dreaming!
Allowing ourselves time to be creative changes everything. . .
PS I’ve just been changing the vibe of my YouTube channel but all my stitched textile and art creations are here if you’d like to see them, and join me for the next adventure into content creation…
